What’s New in the Latest Odoo Update: Top Features for Your Business

Odoo 20. Update 2026

The latest Odoo update of Sepetmeber 2026 is one of the biggest in years. It brings AI agents that can actually do work for you, smarter accounting, faster selling, and hundreds of small improvements that make everyday tasks quicker.

At Integs Cloud, we’ve gone through the full release notes so you don’t have to. Here are the changes we think matter most for growing businesses, especially here in India.

1. AI agents that get work done

AI is no longer just a chat box in Odoo. Agents can now create and update records for you, read files you upload (like a PDF of instructions), generate images, and even dictate requests by voice.

They can also be triggered by automated and scheduled actions, so routine work runs on its own. When an agent needs a decision, it asks you with simple buttons. And with MCP (Model Context Protocol) support, you can connect your Odoo database to other AI tools.

Note that AI features now use IAP (In-App-Services) credits, so it’s worth planning your usage.

2. Smarter Accounting, Stronger Compliance

Accounting teams get a lot of time back. Odoo now predicts bill lines from your history, flags likely duplicate invoices before you post them, and matches vendor bills to purchase orders more accurately. You can also pay bills in batches with a single signature, and send invoice reminders automatically.

For Indian businesses, the update adds important compliance features:

  • GST: Support for the Composition Scheme (CMP-08, GSTR-4), the QRMP scheme, and RCM self-invoices.
  • E-invoicing: Pending e-invoices shown on the dashboard, ready to send in bulk.
  • Imports: A bill of entry flow that adds customs duty to inventory cost.
  • TDS: More flexible TDS handling, plus monthly challans and quarterly Form 138 in Payroll.
  • Reporting: Financial statements in the Schedule III format of the Companies Act.
  • Payroll: Gratuity and EPF reports, Full and Final Settlement payslips, and HDFC eNET salary files.

3. Sell More, Online and In-store

Sales teams can now edit margins directly on order lines, save quotation sections as reusable templates, and set pricing rules for specific dates or days of the week. Commissions can be based on payments received and rolled up to managers.

eCommerce gets AI product editing, automatic cross-sell suggestions, range filters, customer returns from the portal, and WhatsApp follow-ups for abandoned carts. Products can even unpublish themselves when they run out of stock.

Point of Sale now supports static UPI QR code payments, multiple currencies, product snoozing, and receipts via WhatsApp or SMS. Restaurants get more delivery platforms through UrbanPiper, including Swiggy Bolt and Zomato Express.

4. Smoother Operations

Inventory now suggests minimum and maximum stock levels based on your demand history. You can view stock at any past date, check a stock aging report, and run cleaner intercompany flows between your companies.

Manufacturing plans orders as soon as possible by default, supports continuous production, and lets you split orders or reset them to draft. A redesigned Kanban view shows component status, deadlines, and remaining time at a glance.

Planning now includes everything from Field Service: live technician maps, route optimization, travel fees, and customer equipment history, all in one app.

5. Small Changes, Big Difference

Some of the most loved updates are the everyday ones:

  • Offline mode: Create and edit records even without internet.
  • Mobile sharing: Share a photo of a bill from your phone straight into Odoo.
  • Multi-record drag and drop in list and Kanban views.
  • CC on emails sent from Odoo, plus pinned messages and chatter filters.
  • Quick math in duration fields: Type “+=2” to add two hours.
  • Shareable links that keep your filters and grouping.

The Website builder also gets a powerful AI assistant that can build pages, forms and menus from simple instructions, along with better SEO tools built in.
